The Valley region of Arizona is home to great sports teams, magnificent sculptures, incredibale sunsets, beautiful parks and an arts and entertainment district on par with any in the U.S. The Valley region offers a place where one can live the American dream. Many people would argue the area is a piece of praidise here on earth. Phoenix is one of the fast growing cities in the U.S. making for a melting pot of all walks of life, this makes it unique.

However it is also unique in another way dangerous pests habitate the Valley. The Valley offers one of the most dangerous pestilance problems in the U.S. Each year in the U.S. pests cause millions of dollars in damage to the economy, from food supply damage to injuries due to pests stings and bites pests are a big problem.

In the Valley many of these deadly pests live in or around your homes. The Stahnke and the Ewing are types of deadly scorpions which live in the Valley causing harm to many citizens of the Valley. The Black Widow spider is very common in the Valley, this spider makes its web around many of the common areas of homes in the Valley such as childern's play sets in parks and yards also porches and doorways of Valley homes.

Scorpions and Black Widows stings and bites must be treated in the hospital costing money and time to the victum and in some cases with childern they can even cause death. Roaches are another pests which carry grems and spread them throught homes and business' leading to sickness and loss of production. Roaches habitate many areas but are most common in the food storage areas of homes.

Dogs and cats are near and dear to their owners and are part of the family. However they can come under attack by fleas and ticks making their life and your life miserable. Once fleas or ticks find their way to your home they can take weeks to be fully eliminated and cost you hundreds of dollars in treatment.

Alex Hewett the owner and operator of APCO PEST in the Valley for over 20 years says that due to the resent record setting hot and humid summers in the Valley pests are on the rise. Alex says APCO PEST has seen more deadly scorpions and Black Widows this year than any year he can remember.

The government and private companies spend millions on pesticide development each year in order to protect the American food supply from pestlience. Unfortunately some home owners do not protect their homes with the same vegerance allowing pest to endanger their lifes and the lifes of the ones they love. Controling the pests which habitate the Valley is the responsibility of every home owner and property owner.

Without professional control of pests the Valley could fall victum to pestilence of Biblical preportion. This would lead to food shortages and sickness that was only seen in centuries of the past. People of the Valley only need to take advantage of the pesticides which have been developed to protect the homes and family members they love. It has been said "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
